GetIP

Have you ever needed to know your current Internet IP address? This information isn't always easily available, especially if you're in a local area network.
GetIP makes this task easy - just run it and it'll tell you!

It works by connecting to a script-driven webpage on the Internet which returns your IP address, which GetIP then displays. GetIP connects out on TCP port 80 like a web browser does (unless a different port is specified) so it is rarely blocked by firewalls.
The default URL which GetIP connects to is http://www.diamondcs.com.au/consoletools/getmyip.php
This URL is stored at the end of the getip.exe file, and can be modified with a file editor such as a hex editor so as to permanently change the default URL. Alternatively, simply run getip.exe with the alternate URL as the parameter.

Please note that if your HTTP requests are automatically routed to a cache or proxy server by your Internet Service Provider then the address shown will be that of the server, not yours.
