BIOSDump

BIOSDump is a free tool for all versions of Windows as well as MS-DOS that allows you to view and dump the system BIOS (the software code that is run first when your computer is turned on). It also shows extension ROMs and allows you to save the entire ROM images to disk, system BIOS ROM included. It can also directly show you the BIOS date.

Because BIOS is mostly made up of unreadable system code try using the free StrDump tool on a dumped ROM image to extract all the human-readable strings! You may be surprised by what you find in your BIOS.
